According to oral traditions, Petroglyph Point in Lava Beds National Monument is where the Klamath-Modoc peoples were created. Researchers have attempted to explain these petroglyphs from purely scientific perspectives. Missing from these perspectives are the Klamath-Modoc voices that produced the petroglyphs. While the Klamath-Modoc have largely forgotten our rock art heritage, the information has been preserved within these sacred rock narratives.
