11:00-11:45 am Add
101 Archaeological Research Facility, 2251 College Building (next to Boalt Hall)
This talk by archaeology alum and museum specialist Ernesto Perez-Beltran focuses on how archaeological interpretation in both museum and site contexts can work to make archaeology more accessible to public audiences. By illustrating what "public archaeology" is, Perez-Beltran hopes that interested members of the public and formally trained archaeologists will leave with the confidence to engage and learn from each other through archaeological interpretation.
