We all want to be happy, and there are countless ideas about what happiness is and how we can get some. But not many of those ideas are based on science. At this talk, neuroscientist Emiliana Simon-Thomas, science director of Cal's Greater Good Science Center, will lead you through the latest research on happiness -- and offer research-based practices for emotional well-being. The Greater Good Science Center studies the psychology, sociology and neuroscience of well-being, and teaches skills that foster a thriving, resilient and compassionate society. The center's free online magazine, Greater Good, can be accessed at: http://greatergood.berkeley.edu/.
