Genetics & Plant Biology Lawn

Renowned plant biologist Steven Lindow demonstrates ice nucleation, a phenomenon whereby bacteria cause ice crystals to quickly form on plants, subjecting them to frost damage that can be harmful to crops. This phenomenon had baffled scientists until Lindow's discovery, which ultimately enabled the production of man-made snow. Come see an amazing demonstration and enjoy a frozen treat! (Moves inside to 103 Genetics & Plant Biology Building in the event of rain.)
