Disco Clams: Lighting Up Coral Reefs!

There are lots of interesting animals in the ocean that use light for dramatic displays, but have you ever heard of a flashing clam? One bivalve, Ctenoides ales, has two bright stripes that flash light, leading divers to call it the "disco" clam. We'll explore how this unique display works and try to understand what the flashing is for.
